“And every day the world will drag you by the hand yelling, “This is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day it’s up to you to yank your hand back and say, “No. This is what’s important.””
-Iain Thomas
I once told my friend on the phone “I can’t imagine not being an artist, and I also can’t imagine being an artist without sharing what I’ve learned with others.” There are two parts to my business: making art and teaching others.
I believe in the self-taught artist because I am a self-taught artist. I’m here for the moms carving out time to learn Illustrator while their babies sleep. I’m here for the people who followed a path they thought they should, only to abandon it for the path they actually want. I’m here, with keyboard shortcuts, encouragement, and dad jokes.
Me popping in your inbox four times a year to give you an in depth look at current projects, fave supplies, obstacles overcome, and exclusive first-peeks
I have an array of Skillshare classes geared towards self taught creatives interested in Adobe apps, Pattern Design, and general creativity. The best part? You don’t only get my classes with membership, you get access to thousands of classes from all sorts of talented teachers. I can do you one better, though, this link will get you a whole month for free. My fave number.
Just something light to whet your appetite. You can expect encouragement, workflow tips, and a friendly friend in the weird world of the internet.
I help fellow artists with creative encouragement (imposter syndrome, perfectionism, resistance); Guidance with process and technical training (Photoshop, Illustrator, Surface Design, etc); and goal setting and accountability (because working towards goals is uncomfortable). Coaching is done via Zoom in a small group of like-hearted artists.
Right here on this site is content rich in tips, encouragement, tutorials, and resources.
